Systemic Opression

(8"x8") The country I live in is shameful. It is beyond shameful. It is malevolent. I have been sitting with what has been going on, and working on this, nearly all weekend. I have been watching the riots. I have been watching the peaceful protests. I have been watching the endless police brutality. I have been reading and listening to what our people have to say. The one factor that has really resonated with me is this distinction between violent rioting and peaceful protesting. While I do not in any way think violence is the answer, it seems as though there aren't many other options that will be taken with the seriousness this generational and systemic oppression deserves.
